Google is number 1 on wages

We know wages in Silicon Valley are higher than elsewhere in the equivalent position, and this is particularly the case with regard to developers and engineers. According to various sources, we saw during our recent visit on site a good PHP developer in the Bay Area could easily qualify for an annual fee of approximately $ 100,000.

In fact the competition and a relative "shortage of labor" between Sans Francisco and San Jose did have a tendency to result in higher wages.

In this tense context (the lucky ones), it is still Google that is doing the best. According to a study by Glassdoor, a company specializing in the analysis of the labor market in the U.S., in Mountain View that engineers are better paid, with an average annual salary of 128,336 dollars. Facebook comes in second with 123,626, while Apple, yet sitting on a fabulous treasure of war, in third place with 114,413 dollars. eBay and Zinga close the quintet winner with 108,809 and 105,568 respectively dollars.

Wage increase of 2.5% compared to the previous year, which are well above the U.S. national average, valued at 92,648 dollars. And obviously well above wages in Europe, particularly in France, where the average salary of a PHP developer would lie rather between 30,000 and 50,000 euros, if we are to believe a recent case of JDN.
